Circular figures are naturally present at the heart of living things, from our cells to celestial systems.
They represent the human being in correspondence with the universe in a movement of continuous transformation.
We dance in a circle, our feet and our bodies drawing figures on the ground and in space.

L'assise et la danse
14 févr. 2026, 09:00 – 15 févr. 2026, 16:30

Johannes Quintens

A child of the Arche de Lanza del Vasto, Johannes Quintens took up dancing very early, with a classical education he became a professional.
A contemporary dancer, he seeks meaning in his practice and discovers character dancing, then he reconnects with the dances he practiced at L'Arche: the dances of the world. They are folk dances associated with a people who, through their gestures and their music, represent a particular culture.
At the same time he discovers that these popular dances are impregnated with mystery when they are used for religious events: birth, death, marriage, celebration.
Today he teaches these new dances which he calls dance-mandala and which arouse a momentum towards our depths, the goal being to create, through movement, an inner encounter.
Johannes is also the father of three children, a stone sculptor, a trainer in cooperative games and a Reflexologist.
